James Simon
Producer in New York, New York
Hello! I’m James Simon, a theater producer deeply rooted in the vibrant scenes of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and the UK. I was born in 1966 in Westchester, NY, where my family's love for music sparked my passion for the performing arts early on. After honing my skills and finding my voice at Emerson College in Boston, I ventured into the world of acting, appearing across New York stages and even in a cameo on Saturday Night Live.
However, my true calling was behind the scenes. I transitioned into producing, where I’ve had the privilege of working on a number of notable productions, including the Tony-nominated "Bells Are Ringing" and the highly praised "The Woman In Black." Currently, I'm involved with the Broadway-bound "Operation Mincemeat" and a revival of "Death Of A Salesman," projects that are both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
When I'm not in the theater, I’m likely on a ski slope or traveling somewhere new. I love music and attending concerts, which keep my creative juices flowing. I also dedicate time to support the next generation of theater professionals through my work with Untitled Theater Company 61 and Theater Resources Unlimited.
It’s been a thrilling ride, and I look forward to each new project with the same excitement as my first.
