James Slaughter

Hello, I’m James. I’m a student living in Athens, GA. But I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee. I am a statistics major with a sports management minor and a second year student at the University of Georgia. My biggest overall passion is sports and it is one of the biggest reasons I am at UGA today. I want to work for a professional sports team and ever since I could walk I've always had some sort of ball in my hands. I love to play sports of all kinds in my free time and watch even more. Whether it was throwing a whiffle ball up to myself and hitting it as far as I could in the backyard or constantly giving my mom headaches by throwing the football in the living room I have been hooked on sports since I was born. The sports I grew up playing for the most part have faded out for numerous different reasons. Had to quit baseball when I couldn't hit the ball funny how that works. I had to quit football in order to not give my mom a heart attack. But the sport that stuck the most was basketball for me. A basketball gym is my absolute happy place and whenever I need piece of mind or just good exercise I go straight to a hoop. This is important to me because it has guided my choice of major and my outlook for the future as well as the career I am choosing to pursue.
