James Stout

If you can sum yourself up in a few sentences, i'm not sure you're living life to it's fullest. Nonetheless here are some things you should know about me:

I live in San Diego or Tarragona, i'm 25 years old and I speak Spanish, Catalan, French, English and i can reliably fake American should the need arise. I like to ride and race bikes, this provides ample distraction from a PhD in Catalan cultural identity and sports as a means on creating nations. I also write as a freelancer for several cycling and travel publications.

I'm type one diabetic but i'm not really willing to let is top me doing (or eating) whatever i want. I spend a lot of time volunteering with diabetes orgainsations both in europe, the USA and the rest of the world. Bringing a global perspective to what can be a very self centered condition is very important to me and i consider the creation of a global diabets community, and an increase in access to insulin and supplies across the world to be a fulfilling purpose to dedicate a large chunk of my life to.

I play the harmonica in a distinctly average fashion, like to cook and to eat, i love to travel. i'm not averse to craft beer either.
