Specializing in canine and feline care, the Animal Health Center of Columbus, Georgia, offers a range of services including screenings, preventive treatments, surgeries, and dentistry. Led by President, Dr. James Thorsen, the staff of 14 at AHC possesses extensive experience working with a variety of small animals. At Animal Health Center, Dr. James Thorsen puts a high priority on customer service and patient care, taking personal responsibility to ensure each pet and owner receives excellent assistance. To catch health issues early, the Animal Health Center utilizes the latest screening and pre-emptive treatment methods. When a pet does require a special procedure, Dr. James Thorsen takes responsibility for operating and providing advanced treatments. In addition to basic veterinary services, the Animal Health Center offers comprehensive pet dentistry, boarding, and grooming. A graduate of Auburn University, Dr. James Thorsen has served at the Animal Health Center since 1988. In more than two decades treating small animals, Dr. James Thorsen has encountered a plethora of distinct medical conditions. Dr. James Thorsen stays abreast of the latest developments in animal health care through his membership with the American Veterinary Association. As a committed member of the Columbus community, Dr. James Thorsen has volunteered his time with numerous local organizations, including the UPtown Columbus, Inc. board, an emergency management advisory board, and the Business Improvement District board for Columbus. During his career, Dr. James Thorsen has served in the Explorer Veterinary Post for the Boy Scouts of America and currently participates as a Paul Harris Fellow for a local Rotary Club.
