Set blade or folder? A fresh decision all hunters encounter when choosing the knife they’ll keep on a hunt. Based on
discussions with knife makers CJ Buck and Edmund Davidson, there are arguments for each.
Says Davidson, the very character of a folding knife indicates there is a weak spot in the construction. “The fixed edge is much less likely to fail pressurized. ” Buck also favors a fixed blade. “It’s reliable in hand for what can be uncomfortable game-processing tasks, ” this individual says.
