James Wusterbarth has navigated a life rich in experience and public service. He is committed to continuous learning and skill improvement. His vast and varied qualifications include numerous FAA Pilot Licenses, a DOT Merchant Mariner Master Captain's License for up to 25-ton vessels, and various boating instructor licenses. His PADI Master Diver certification further exemplifies his passion for exploring the skies and the seas. With a remarkable 35 years of service in emergency response, he holds numerous certifications such as FLETC Certified Backcountry Law Enforcement Ranger, USPA Certified Skydiver, and Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor. His dedication to safety and emergency management is also evident in the decade of work he has volunteered for the National Ski Patrol, his work as a DOI Red Card Wildland Fire Fighter, years of service as National Registry Certified EMT, ICS Search And Rescue Coordinator, and FEMA SAR Manager. In the critical days following the September 11 attacks, he took emergency leave to help out at Ground Zero, showcasing his dedication to service, even under hazardous conditions. This instance is a poignant example of his countless hours of voluntary service, rendered when needed during catastrophic disasters and emergencies worldwide. As of 2023, his work has spanned throughout 34 countries, with additional residences or travel in more than 50 countries.
