Hey there, I’m Jamie. I’m an Insight Meditation teacher-in-training and a leading expert on secular-scientific mindfulness training. I've been meditating and studying the Buddhist dharma since 2001 and have been training to teach in one way or another since 2013. There is no end to the learning, but now is the time for me to pass some of it on.

I'm Director of The Mindfulness Initiative, a think-tank about the application of contemplative practices in public life. As part of my role, I've worked with politicians around the world and clerked the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Mindfulness since 2015. Here and here are some examples of my published work.

I was formerly the Business Development Director at the digital meditation platform Headspace, and so I am familiar with their content and approach. I have also been a consultant to the University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

My main teacher-training mentor is the well-known writer and 'secular Buddhist' teacher Stephen Batchelor, who has given me his blessing to take on students online. My other teachers include Christina Feldman, John Peacock, Akincano Weber, Yuka Nakamura and Chris Cullen. I was taught by Rob Burbea from 2012 until his death in April 2020 and I continue to be a dedicated student of his visionary teachings.

I trained as a mindfulness teacher (MBSR/MBCT) at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University between 2013-16, and I have a certificate in counselling skills.

If you'd like to book some time to discuss your mindfulness or meditation practice with me as a teacher or coach, please click the 'Schedule an appointment' button above.

I offer my time freely in the spirit of 'dana', or generosity, and ask that you practice dana by giving me whatever feels financially appropriate in return.
