Jamie C. Oberdick
Hi and welcome to my about.me. So, about me. I am an associate editor, publications, with Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) at Penn State University, and man, do I love what I do. I write, I edit, I market, but I also produce and host podcasts, occasionally make videos, and do that whole social media thing that all the cool kids are on these days. Basically, I tell stories about how technology is being used in fantastic ways to educate Penn State students (hint: it's not about the technology, it's about who is using it). And hopefully make every Penn State faculty member realize that they, too, could rock their classroom using technology in creative ways. Since I grew up in a racially-diverse neighborhood in York, PA, I am passionate about diversity and serve on the ITS Climate Diversity Team at Penn State.
When I am not doing that, some of the stuff I like to do includes lifting weights, organic/heirloom gardening (sort of the opposite of lifting weights), enjoying music (anything that isn't lame, no matter genre), cooking, reading, and spending lots of time with my awesome wife. Oh, and wrangling three cats and a greyhound, all rescues. I am exhausted just thinking of all that. P.S. I also am very interested in meteorology and weather. Think that's a weird hobby? Well, I don't get caught in a cold rain without an umbrella like you probably do all the time, so there.
