I am from a small rural community in southern Oregon. I will be returning there after I graduate from college.
I am currently a senior in the Sustainable Food & Bioenergy Systems major offered at Montana State University. My focus is on crop production, however I find nutrition and foodservice fascinating as well.
I grew up not only running around on my family's farm, but also in the kitchen. My dad bought me my own chef's knife when I was nine. Cooking is and will always be something that I love, even though it is not the focus of my career.
Last year I had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and travel around Europe a little. I learned so much while overseas, about cultures, cuisines, and of course farming.
On prominent commonality I noticed among students is that they either have little time to cook or have little knowledge on how to cook. In my blog I touch on some quick, easy meals designed to feed one or two people.
