Willie Wyllie is shown above with David Shepherd, the founder of North America's first ever professional improv company, the Compass Players. In 1977, Willie and Howard Jerome, created what is now known as the Canadian Improv Games (CIG). CIG produces a competition in improvisational theatre for teams of high school students from across Canada. The national finals of the competition and a related festival are held every Spring at Canada's National Arts Centre. Willie spent 8 years as a professional improvisor with the groups Stage Fright and Skit Row, after which he practised law for 25 years. During his legal career he continued in improvisational theatre as a producer, director, and creative designer. Today, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIG.
