Researcher, Program Director, and Entrepreneur in Washington, DC
I'm a computer scientist who is interested in user research -- supporting users across a range of computing technologies (from educational to socially-mediated). I earned my PhD in computer science, studying computer-mediated communication, and I completed a postdoc in which I investigated non-profits and technology adoption, in the context of community wireless networks. My passion lies in designing technical systems, from a behavioral science perspective, that empower users.
I am also a President and Principal of my own tech consultant firm, Design & Technology Concepts, LLC, and I'm a co-founder of blackcomputeHER.org, an organization dedicated to supporting computer science and STEM education and workforce development for black girls and women.
