Retired businessman James King has turned his attention to Writing, Blogging and Photography. Born in England James has always been a passionate creative at heart. He has travelled to over 20 countries and settled in Cape Town, South Africa in 1995, having been a regular visitor since 1990. It was then he first started writing seriously, producing business documents, preparing detailed submissions and surveys for the provincial gaming boards. He travelled all over South Africa setting up survey teams in six provinces, visiting townships and rural areas, gaining valuable insight into the culture and lives of the people. He took over a jewellery wholesale business in 2004 and in 2011 moved to Thailand, where he built two houses, renovated another, created a tropical garden from scratch, has written three books on his Thailand experiences and started a Blog (jamoroki.com). He rejuvenated his passion for art through landscape photography and then by creating artistic impressions to produce the pictures you will see posted on his blogs. In 2016 he began writing a novel which he plans to self-publish in 2017.

The Blog, Jamoroki.com, poses questions and brings information to readers about the need for social change in a forthright and humorous way. In Posts on travel experiences, memoirs and stories from places lived in or visited around the world Jamoroki attempts to raise awareness about many social issues.

James says, with tongue in cheek, “If this is semi-retirement I’m thinking of returning to working full-time as it is far less strenuous”.
