Ever since I was a toddler a tradition in my household was to go to the Georgia National Fair. There we would spend time as a family watching the main events and eating the delicious fair food. Eventually, as I grew older, the tradition shifted to become one with my friends until a change of events happened.
Three years ago, one of my friends put me in a predicament. My friend, Llonatan, came up to me during class and wanted to have a direct conversation. So, he started questioning me and asked if I truly enjoyed the fair. Of course, I said yes because it was a nostalgic place for me, but I was nervous to see where the conversation would land. He also asked me if I would love to go there every day, and again, I said yes. So, as we continued our strange talk about the fair he popped one of the best questions ever. He offered me a job at the Georgia National Fair!
I have never accepted a job so fast in my life. However, I did not realize how much went into the job. Working at the fair got tiring at times, but there was never a dull moment. Now, every year since I have worked at the fair and it gave me such a different perspective on my nostalgic palace. I was able to see behind the scenes, which made me love it even more. From preparing for the start of the day to watching the last breakdown, I knew working at the fair was the best job I ever had.
