A Chess Master’s Path

Student in Philippines

I’m Jan-3K M. Mangiliman, and when it comes to chess, others call me as “The Silent Demon” a nickname that fits my unpredictable way of playing chess. My love for the game began in Lubao, Pampanga, where I first watched my uncle and brother play. The silent tension, the clever moves, it intrigued me so much that I eventually picked up the game myself. I now live in San Fernando, Pampanga, but that spark has never dimmed.

My style is a reflection of my personality I mix all the openings I’ve learned into a messy yet strategic approach. My first four moves are usually passive, carefully setting the stage. But once I sense my moment, whether I’m playing black or white, I launch into aggressive play, turning the board into chaos that works in my favor.

Outside of chess, I’m a natural joker and I enjoy making people laugh, even if I sometimes have sudden mood drops. That’s just part of who I am. In my vision of the future, I see myself battling grand masters, competing in world tournaments, and crafting games that will be remembered for their boldness and creativity.

For me, chess is more than just 64 squares, it’s a war of patience, timing, and courage. And every move I make brings me one step closer to my ultimate checkmate
