Hello good people!
My Name is Jan and I have been studying at the PH University of Education in Heidelberg since Fall 2014 for becoming a teacher in the subjects English, Computer Science as well as Nutrition and Home Economics for secondary level education.
Born in 1994 I grew up in a smaller town located somewhere in between Heidelberg and Mannheim and I'm still based there today. The cultural Background of my ancestors is relatively unknown to me and I don't see any additional linguistic influences which is why I only know about the German and English language and would rather identify myself as an European instead of specifying my relation to a certain culture.

I graduated with a high school diploma in 2013 and worked as a voluntary service provider for handicapped people from Fall 2013 until Fall 2014. After this I applied for taking part in a vocational training for entering the business world but somehow did not manage to move forward in this concern which was the reason why I finally applied for studying at the PHH without expecting any registration. But very unexpectedly I soon received positive feedback from the institution and therefore became a student there "on accident". Because of that I haven't been in a professional teaching situation before.

I like being a student at the PHH because it enables me to take my time for studying. I'm a person without proper time management and therefore being able to decide when to take the exams helps a lot!

Besides this I'm a person that hardly gets bored because there's always something that keeps me busy. I'm quite musical and already have done vocals and guitars in various compositions. It's very likely that you will catch me in public places randomly singing songs :-)
Furthermore I love the marine life, especially fish as creatures. I keep three fish tanks at home and share another four tanks in a different place together with my father.

Finally I'm very happy about being part of the telecollaboration project and really looking forward to get in touch with you folks, let's talk soon!
