Few photographers combine the European sophistication and American hipness that Jana Krenova is becoming internationally known for. She has a unique eye and has shown genuine talent in visually exploring and presenting the female body in the most flattering, sensual and provocative ways. Over the past 15 years, her photographs have appeared on the covers, and filled countless pages, of American and international lingerie, fashion, skin and fetish magazines and catalogues (Secrets In Lace, Playboy, Penthouse, Leg Show, etc).

In the 1990s she earned a reputation for her work in leg-fetish publications, which featured old-fashioned nylons as well as modern pantyhose. This work earned her a passionate and loyal following. Jana's ability to capture female beauty leads her to explore new and different ways of seducing her models to be at their sensual best.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, just before the Soviet Union occupied the country, Jana was attracted to the idea of living in the United States. Indeed, she landed in New York City smack in the middle of that city’s percolating artistic climate of the early eighties.

In 1985 she accepted an offer from a Swiss TV magazine, and returned to Europe to work again as a staff photographer. In Zurich, she shot portraits of renown film and television personalities. As she re-immersed herself in European culture, she got the chance to photograph her first nude pictorial, which was published in the prestigious German Penthouse magazine --a very soft-core and more sophisticated version of the US edition. But ultimately Jana was drawn back into the whirl of New York City, which has now been her home since 1989.

Jana speaks several languages, including English, French, German and Czech. Though New York is her home base, she spends a good deal of her time working in Europe, primarily in Prague where, she claims, the models are more beautiful and have a more natural sensuality; the locations are more exotic; and she has assembled a core team of assistants and an indispensable make-up artist.
