Janai Wallace
Student, Project Manager, and Designer in Seattle, Washington
Growing up in the wilds of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I developed both a great imagination, and a love of anything involving adventures or the great outdoors. My parents gave me what they would come to find out was a Chinese name—23 years later I made my home in China—where I lived for 9 years. While far, far, far from anything even slightly outdoorsy or nature-like, Shanghai's cement city offered its own kind of adventure and unique opportunities for one-of-a-kind stories.
Over the years I have taught English, PE and Graphic Design; developed an English Magazine for kids, lead local community projects, and worked as the Communications Director for an International Fellowship in Shanghai. I recently relocated to Seattle for Grad School (MA Industrial-Organizational Psychology & MA Reconciliation & Intercultural Studies) and am looking forward to exploring all the Northwest has to offer!
StrengthsFinders tags me as input, woo, achiever, includer, and ideation.
I love table topics, discovering a great read, and sharing things I find interesting with others.
Special talents include: singing the wrong lyrics to songs, forgetting to water plants, and turning the world against the font Papyrus.
