I am 54 years old (close enough to my dec birthday) and have a background in nursing as well as being a former fitness competitor and body builder. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and vowed to regain my life and my strength and fitness level. I currently am an instructor at a studio that offers a cutting edge variation of pilates where I also work out. I own a health and wellness company that I am passionate about. I have three beautiful grown children and one exceptional grand baby.

My purpose for this blog is to help people looking for answers on how to improve their fitness, their energy, their health and therefore their quality and longevity of life in a way that doesn’t rob them of satisfaction from good food and good fun. We need a change of lifestyle that we can LIVE WITH! “Diet” is a four letter word that nobody enjoys. I want to help people find balance in the super healthy yet yummy meals we need most of the time but also recognizing that we need food that is maybe not so healthy but we love at least some of the time. We can have both. I am not only a fitness girl but also an avid cook and foodie…most would think that is a contradiction and cannot work together but I have lived that way for many years enjoying being lean and fit while also allowing myself to indulge in the higher calorie foods I love to cook and eat. Lots of people look at the word “exercise” and a feeling of dread comes over them. I prefer to think of it and call it physical activity. You don’t have to spend countless hours in a gym each week to get the “exercise” you need. Some of us love that, but let’s face it, a lot of people don’t. However, pushing your baby in the stroller on a walk in your neighborhood for at least 30 minutes, or how about a 30-45 minute hike in the woods surrounded by nature. Did you love to ride your bike as a child? it’s really just as much fun as an adult. We just need to find what is fun to us and move our bodies about 3 times a week! The goal is to help people change the way we look at food and physical activity, recipes for the good and the not so good food, motivation, and support knowing others are with you on this journey. Have a feel good, look good and live well day!
