Ken Jandes

Kenneth Michael Jandes, Ed.D., is the Associate Dean at ACE. Additionally, Dr. Jandes serves as Director of the Office of Academic Excellence. This office is responsible for supporting students' rigorous pursuit of scholarly achievement throughout programs at both the Masters and Doctoral level.

For 12 years prior to joining ACE, Dr. Jandes served as Superintendent of Schools in two suburban Cook County school districts within 10 miles of Chicago.

He taught courses in Educational Leadership for ACE and has taught graduate courses in Educational Administration since 1986 for other graduate schools of education around Chicago. His published research in the area of Effective Schools was selected as one of the year’s ten most outstanding educational research studies in the nation by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA).

During his 41 years in public education, he served as president, chairperson or Board Member for national and statewide educational organizations including the Federal Litigation Insurance Committee, the Educational League of Ilinois and the Illinois Association of School Administrators. Accordingly, he was one of four superintendents nationwide to be appointed to the Federal Litigation Insurance Committee in Washington D.C. where he served until his retirement as superintendent of schools in June 2007. For several years Dr. Jandes was host and moderator of Hot Topics for Educational Leaders, a one-hour weekly Internet television show that took an in-depth look at national education issues and events affecting school leaders. His biography is published in Who’s Who in America and has been every consecutive year since 1997.

Ken lives in Downers Grove, Illinois with RoseMary, his wife of more than four decades. They have two adult children, Mike and Mark. Their five grandchildren, Donovan, Ethan, Natalia, Eli and Violet, bring joy and purpose to their lives.
