Jane Carter
Labor Economist in Washington, DC
Jane Carter is a Labor Economist with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), specializing in the prevention of privatization and outsourcing of public services and assets. Her work includes assisting affiliates in negotiations at the bargaining table and outsourcing battles at the state and local levels. Jane works closely with state legislators and allies by drafting and implementing anti-outsourcing legislation, as well as fighting against attempts to privatize the work of AFSCME members and the services we provide. Additionally, she monitors and tracks the flow of "Dark Money" to organizations attacking working families, working closely with national and local allies to expose anti-union initiatives across the country.
She has made several t.v. appearances and has been a panelist across the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, discussing the perils of privatization and the attacks on working families - and the organizations behind those efforts.
