Jane Powell

I have been Director of Shift Learning since it was founded in 2001. Shift Learning is a market research and usability company specialising in the education, medical and publishing sectors.

Prior to this, I worked in academic and professional publishing at Palgrave Macmillan, Financial Times Management and Pearson Education. At Pearson, as online content manager, I helped to develop the UK's foremost programme of companion higher education websites and online courses.

I'm a full member of the Market Research Society and have run training courses for the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and the University of Exeter business school amongst others.

I'm passionately interested in education and have a strong interest in technology, electronic publishing and elearning.

I love music and spend much of my time either at work tormenting the team with my eclectic musical choices or at home playing the drums and bass very badly.
