Jane Spence is a principal who started off as a teacher years ago. She has managed to earn a name for herself by working hard over the years.

Dr. Jane Spence is an experienced educational leader who has served as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and principal and a central office administrator, where she has provided such services as principal evaluation and supervision, leadership professional development, grant management and school improvement planning.

Jane Spence started her professional career in 1996. She served as an English teacher at Gibbs High School from 1996 to 1998. She taught 9th and 10th-grade English, sponsored student government association and was honored as the teacher of the year.

Jane Spence recently served as the chief of secondary schools, at the district of Columbia public schools from 2017 to 2018. She supervised instructional superintendents (principal Supervisors) of 34 high schools, deputy chief of college and career and directors of Ninth grade Academic, athletics and pathways. She launched a redesign of athletic programs as well.

Dr. Jane Spence earned Bs in English education- special Ed, Minor, from the Florida State University in 1994. Following this, she earned MA in school administration and supervision from the New York University in 1996. He also earned EdD in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Maryland in 2015.
