Once upon a time there was a girl who liked: sunshine, pigtails, puppies, kittens, imagining, drawing, hugs, kisses, naps, dreams, poems, songs and stories. She never really grew up; she just got bigger. The books she read got thicker, the words she knew got longer, the poems she wrote got stranger. And out she went into the world, thinking: “I am a writer.” And even when no one believes her, she knows in her heart that she is. She still likes hugs and kisses, and all the other things that have always made her smile. She has a new affinity for Unicorns and loves the people of the world a little more each day – they are crazy, they are wacky, they are beautiful, they are real. Her stories are about them. And on some pages, if you look carefully, you might see doodles of her soul.
