Janessa Karawan
I am an Egyptian-American who was living in Cairo during the Jan 25 Revolution. I worked as an editor and researcher at Al Ahram, a teacher at an international school, and an educational consultant for a distributor of school curriculums. Before moving to Cairo, I worked in Washington D.C. as a researcher and analyst of the Middle East at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and CRA Inc. and as an intern at the Brookings Institution. I will forever be a student of the Egyptian culture and language.
