Orlando, Fl

I am a recent University of Central Florida graduate with a major in Advertising and Public Rrealtions seeking opportunities in the advertising for not-for-profits field. My first-hand experience in multiple facets of advertising and public relations including coordinating and hosting events, business writing, social media management, client relations, and sales make me an asset to any organization seeking to further their cause and gain community support. My Service Learning background has driven me to seek real, world changing applications for my education and skills. I utilize my proficiency in public speaking to lead Youth Empowerment Trainings for middle and high school students, teaching 21st century skills, leadership traits, professional dress, interview skills and designing service learning community projects. I also advocate on behalf of the Invisible Children organization, working closely with representatives of the San Diego headquarters and serving as a coordinator for central Florida campaigns and events. My contributions include writing press releases, promoting local fundraising, and events planning. I implemented the Schools For Schools program in my high school that has raised over $20,000 to date to rebuild Awere Secondary School in war torn Uganda. I planned the Orlando 25 Event, twenty-five hours of silence in recognition of the twenty-five year war in Uganda, organizing and hosting the Break The Silence finale in downtown Orlando. This event site was one of only 18 sites nationally which together generated more that 1.7 million dollars for the creation of shelters and emergency alert systems in Uganda and the Congo. Through these experiences I have learned what it takes to promote, to engage diverse publics and to achieve desired change. My goal is to use these talents to advance not-for-profit charities and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
