I work in the area of multimedia production, elearning, and distance learning at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. My background is more in the areas of video editing and writing (technical communications) than in visual or graphic design, so my goal for this course is to learn about what constitutes good visual design and why. Additionally, I'm interested in how visual design affects or influences the way people learn, and the corollary to that: how poor design can detract from or become a hurdle for learning.
