As outpatient pharmacy operations manager for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Janet Aiso has implemented a number of efficiency improvements. She facilitated more than $150,000 in savings for one clinic through the introduction of a clinic administered medication (CAM) project, which she then worked to apply on a regional level. She also created the only pharmacist-managed behavioral health clinic throughout Kaiser nationally. Dr. Janet Aiso went on to earn Kaiser's national performance improvement award for the creation of the behavioral health clinic.
Dr. Janet Aiso has served within the Kaiser Permanente team since 2008, when she became outpatient pharmacy manager for the 24 hour discharge pharmacy at the Los Angeles Medical campus. Successful in opening this location in 2009, she went on to reduce call center costs and improve patient service processes.
An experienced consultant, as well, Dr. Janet Aiso serves as president and co-founder of JANEN Clinical Pharmacy Consultants. In this position, she has provided 340B compliance audit services and has created the Generic Advantage Program lists for major managed health-care groups. In addition, Dr. Aiso has provided both operational and cost-saving recommendations for both disproportionate care hospitals and federally funded clinics.
Dr. Janet Aiso holds a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Southern California, where she also has completed an executive leadership training program. She further stands out as a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health's certificate program for cost-effective analysis in medical technologies and pharmaceuticals, which she completed in June 2000.
