Janet Kelly

Janet Denise Kelly offers more than a decade of accomplishments in housing and the nonprofit sector.

A key strategic and tactical nonprofit business professional, Ms. Kelly was instrumental in the exponential growth of PATH Partners and PATH that added a new start-up organization and three additional nonprofits through mergers.

Beginning her career in fair housing, Ms. Kelly developed a strong interest in housing issues and parlayed this interest into addressing homelessness, community and economic development initiatives, and building affordable housing opportunities for at-risk populations.

Leveraging an impressive portfolio of experience in nonprofit management, operations, mergers, and strategic planning, Ms. Kelly has proven to be adaptive and responsive to the changes in social policy. Her leadership has delivered strong and sustained results in the areas of nonprofit start-ups, growth, and turnaround situations.

Prior to PATH Partners, Ms. Kelly was the Senior Housing Discrimination Coordinator at the former Westside Fair Housing Council. She helped settle and resolve hundreds of fair housing complaints in rental, sales, and insurance.

Now, Ms. Kelly embarks on a new journey to help emancipated youth and young adults in South Los Angeles. She seeks to change the landscape of their future by bringing capital and social resources that will help them become successful and live independently.

Throughout her career, Ms. Kelly has fostered good relations with the community. She has won many community service awards including being selected as a 2010 SHero for California Senate District 26. She serves on nonprofit boards, is a member of many professional organizations and participates in economic revitalization activities. She also serves as the Secretary of the Board for the Empowerment Congress Central Area Neighborhood Development Council.

Ms. Kelly is the publisher and author of “The Urban Perspective.” It is blog that addresses urban issues in the areas of housing, poverty, economics, and employment.

Ms. Kelly earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California Los Angeles and holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
