I am an ACE (Animal Centred Education) Instructor, a member of the UK Association of Pet Dog Trainers (01046) and a qualified leadership coach (ILM Level 7).

Together with my partner, Michelle Dart, I run HeartDog. We help dog professionals create a business that supports their wellbeing as well as the dogs they work with and their clients.

We promote a hybrid teaching approach to build a resilient, flexible and sustainable business.

I have 20+ years experience as an academic, including a professor responsible for online learning at a large UK university.

In my spare time I enjoy fibre craft and art including hand dyeing, felting, weaving and latch hook.

I am also an enthusiastic amateur family historian and have traced my own family back to the mid-17th century through Scottish, Irish, English, US, Indian and Jamaican records, as well as completing genealogical research for others.

Michelle and I spend our time between Northumberland and Devon and travelling in our hand-built campervan Molly, with our two dogs Otter and Sirius.
