A Doberman rescue is the right thing to do. Dobermans are an affectionate breed, who will be energetic - having lots of strength, speed and agility. They establish a family repationship quickly and are very sensitive to their master's wishes. They are a gentle dog with breeding going back 70 years.

This is a peaceful moment for this female Doberman, relaxing in the forest after a good run. She has the satisfaction now of knowing she has a home. “Cinnamon” catches her breath. Can you imagine this dog with skin and bones, with ribs protruding and about 25 pounds lighter? When first seeing her, it was evident she just had a litter of puppies, ears were cropped wrong, and had several be bees lodged in her right ear and in her head. What did she ever do to deserve this treatment? Her original family ties had been severed, and maybe for the better. Volunteers stepped in to create the bridge to her new home. In the past 3 days before her adoption by Janet Krahenbuhl, Cinnamon had been turned in to an Indianapolis Humane Society shelter, moved to a Chicago Illinois Doberman Rescue foster home, and was recovering from being spayed the day before. Now she is to look her best to be adopted and find her new home.

Janet Krahenbuhl rang the doorbell of the Doberman Rescue foster home. The greeting initially came from a pack of dogs from various breeds. One was a Doberman with a vascular ball hanging out of its eye. After the kind lady put her crew in her back yard, Cinnamon appeared on her porch. She was cowering since it was necessary for a nail trim by the foster mom. After watching her experience that, sore belly and all, Janet Krahenbuhl had her first encounter with her on leash. The animal just stood there, had slow movements, and looked like she hurt. But her eyes said “trust me, I’m not myself today”.

Today she is protected from the haunts of her past. Knowone will ever really know what memories of the past she will carry. Cinnamon is approximately 7 years old, give or take. She will never go hungry again. She is wonderful with children, adults, and with other pets. Without speaking, you can give her a look and she knows what you mean.
