Janette R. Smith is a focused and driven change-agent who injects passion and light into any project she is a part of.

Her award-winning career is shaped by her vast exposure to the world at large as the daughter of an Air Force Officer. She began Montessori schooling in Tehran, Iran. Her respect for various cultures inspires her curiosity to learn from and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

Janette began training in the arts at the Yamaha School of Music in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 3 and continued with showcases through college. She dove into theater training at age seven and continued doing local and regional theater until she began her career as a journalist while a Senior at Alabama A&M University.

Janette's stints as reporter and anchor took her from WAFF in Hsv. AL., to WCPO in Cincinnati, WFAA in Dallas, and FOX-WAGA in Atlanta. "I've done and seen some things people call crazy, like riding a bull (for 2.7 seconds - check it out on YouTube!) and living at sea on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John C. Stennis for a week.

She transitioned from news to entertainment after the 9-11 attacks on the U.S. and thrived in the entertainment industry for over seven years, hosting "ASK DIY" -for the D.I.Y. Network and working as a show host for HGTV.

One of her great passions has always been making a difference in people's lives. Janette served as Executive Producer of Media for World Changer's Church International in Atlanta, Georgia - overseeing an international broadcast reaching over 1.7 billion homes worldwide.

She also oversaw the Media department for FHammond Family Entertainment Corporation in Dallas, Texas, run by Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum gospel artist Fred Hammond. Their independent film "Christmas...Who Needs It" won the Hollywood Black Film Festival in 2009, for which she was cast in a support role and earned an associate producer credit. She recently wrote, produced, and directed a six-episodic web series, Evening Shade.

Having dealt with a malignant cancer diagnosis in her early 20s, Janette became devoted to learning and sharing more about an empowered mindset. As a result, she earned Coaching certifications from Harvard EDx and Robbins / Madanes Training.

Janette shares, "I'm living an amazing life, having interviewed and worked with some of the provocative thought leaders of our time. I'm always excited to bring these experiences to television and film by portraying impactful and memorable characters."
