I'm a born and raised Southern California girl. I grew up in this small beachside town called Ventura. Well I guess it's not too small, but sure does feel like it when you grow up here.

I've always wanted to be a nurse. My passion lies in caregiving, inspiring health and wellness into those who are in need, and practicing the art of nursing.

It took me not one attempt, but two, to get my act together and get into a nursing program. The first attempt was right out of highschool, I started my prerequisites, but was unsucccessful and was quickly on my way down a troubled path due to my priorities lying elsewhere. So what did I do?

I sold my car and moved overseas to New Zealand. I was 19. I ended up spending 5 years out of California. In that time I experienced some deeply low lows, and some spectacularly high highs; I like to say I "grew up."

I had an amazing experience traveling in Southeast Asia when I was 24. My journey to this magical land reminded me of how blessed I am to be able to have a dream, and to be able to make it reality.

I moved back to California in 2010. Round two. I immersed myself in those darn nursing prerequisites for the second time. Only this time, I was successful. I'm part of the Fall 2014 graduating class of Ventura College's School of Nursing.

I've created a pretty awesome life for myself here. I'm about to begin a career in one of the most rewarding fields one can go into. I'm excited.
