Mother, Volunteer, and Small Business Owner in Kenya
Jane is a mother, volunteer, and small business owner currently living in Kenya. Her interests range from politics to leadership. She is also interested in women empowerment, volunteering, and entrepreneurship.
She is a mentor and role model of many and an experienced leader, with long-standing experience from government positions, political affairs, non-profit affairs, and community collaboration. As a Member of County Assembly since 2017, as chairperson of Lake Kenyatta Water Resources Users Association (LK-WRUA) under the leadership of Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA), as an activist and many others she has been exposed to and been responsible for key political, social and economic fields such as the poverty elimination, industry and private sector, gender affairs, rights issues, anti-tribalism and sustainable development as well as minority affairs and public collaboration.
While in Burundi for an East African women forum, under the sponsorship of WARMA, she was acknowledged as having been a key participant in the empowering of women in the community. She is vocal on adoption of new paradigms to build the women of tomorrow.
She benefits from excellent national networks in the fields of politics, administration, private sector and civil society. Her leadership capacity is recognized with experience from large as well as smaller organizations and entities; from change processes and reform and in strategic processes, teamwork and team-building. She has demonstrated ability to lead in limited budget circumstances and to manage and take responsibility for large budgets in a resource efficient manner. Nevertheless, she has longstanding experience in dealing with complex matters and structures, and with change. Md. Jane W. Ndung’u was awarded certificate of Good Leadership (B.O.G) by Mpeketoni Secondary School on 5th April 2014. This acknowledgement is tied to individual performance vis a vi impact on general school performance. The acknowledgement was made and given with acknowledgement from the office of the County Director of Education and the Principal.
