Hi folks, I'm janI'm 61 yrs looking for part time work, in reception or cashier, I feel ageism my biggest fear, and glad to see disabled are getting employment too ,I have never asked much from life, only wish is to be happier with myself I've worked, not work shy, just my age and the fact I'm part disabled, post operations where healing is slow and painful at times another 6 month's and I maybe pain free. In the past year I have studied hard passed 18 exams to show folk I'm employable, I have run my own business for a few yrs until draught of 1987 closed me down, continued by working for others using my skills oh valetting vehicles to a very high standard quote those I've worked for coaches included. I love being a nanny to my hopefully no more grandchildren, I see only 3 of them, that's another story I live on edge of the city of Exeter, only wanted to be here 6 months but 25 yrs later still here, been living in my flat since 22 nd July 1998 just a year short from not paying bedroom stupid tax, it is stupid as we're building student flats, nothing for single folk, I've a garden hence not wanting to move, I grow fruit, to the annoyance of one neighbour he'd tell you, apples cherries strawberries raspberries plums, I've done pretty good, Do grow veg for myself. My interests of which I may turn to make picket money from being knittin. Using needles not machine, sewing when I get my machine back in for repair. Generally a boisterous happy person who's at present laid up with flu and post op very painful tum
