I am a doctoral student in the School of Social Work at the University at Buffalo (UBSSW) where I also earned my MSW degree and a Certificate in Trauma Counseling. Prior to becoming a social worker, I earned a Master's degree in English and have taught at area colleges for more than a dozen years. Currently I work as a full-time lecturer at Buffalo State. In addition to teaching, I advise students, spearhead programmatic assessment initiatives, and serve as a member of the Online Education Advisory Committee. I also teach Trauma and Human Rights as an adjunct instructor for the UBSSW. Additionally, I have developed and presented trainings, talks, and workshops on trauma, trauma-informed care, and self-care in a variety of professional settings. My current research focuses on trauma-informed educational theory and practice and written emotional disclosure.
