Janice Hume

Janice Hume is a professor of journalism in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia where she teaches magazine writing, magazine management, and media history. She is author of Obituaries in American Culture (University Press of Mississippi, 2000) and co-author of Journalism in a Culture of Grief (Routledge, 2008) and has published numerous studies on journalism history in Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, American Journalism and Journalism History. A former lifestyle and arts editor at the Mobile (Ala.) Register, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
