My name is Janie Velarde and I'm a journalism student at the University of Oregon.

Just a Southern California native trying to stay dry in the Pacific Northwest.

My greatest passions are writing and photography.

I am currently a writer and photographer at a student-run lifestyle magazine, DuckLiving. I also work 20+ hours a week at our campus print shop.

In my free time, I love creating art, listening to music and hiking around the great outdoors.
