"Retiring" after 22 years as a senior marketing strategist at global technology companies, I initially used my past time skills to support my two boys' hockey teams by creating the 'Waterloo' (yellow and black) Hockey Scarf and applying the proceeds to the team budgets. I changed my focus to making more fashionable metallic yarn scarves which are a finishing piece to any outfit and are often thought to be jewellery. Demand for the GemLace scarf has spread to women well beyond the hockey arenas and has led to a second career.
