Generations came before me. Stories told of people from all across the country and around the world traveling to see my great, great aunts for herbal healing, a secret book combinations of herbs, oils recipes as they have been called. I have no knowledge where this book is now? i was left with only a couple of pages that my grandmother had put together herself. I do remember when i was nine we traveled to McAllen Texas for a wedding while there crossed the border into Mexico to have lunch with family, until this day i remember my Mother and two other women sitting discussing some papers mom was annoyed on the way back across the border her husband asked what happened? all she said at the time is i don't want that they are witches!! they seem nice to me. Anyway in my family whenever you got sick a recipe would come out sometimes we would walk the neighborhood and pick what we called weeds we ate them, made tea with them or mix them with oils and rubbed them on ourselves. Like it or not not my mother knew what to do with the weeds and oils i assert she too was a witch,, the thought would have disturbed her for she was a Catholic. I consider myself a practical kitchen alchemist. (Using nature's bounty to heal mind and spirit) Working as an intuitive with full trust and gratitude that our great planet has provided for us. Truth be told i have never questioned or tried to explain the gifts intrusted to me by the universe I just accept and allow them to guide what path is best most of the time. I Personally believe our minds and souls should not be tormented by yesterday and free to live today.
