Off Off Broadway playwright and award winnings screenwriter, Janyce Lapore, continues to make a considerable impact on her profession, crafting highly imaginative and riveting dramas for a wide demographic. One of her most recent screenplays, A Circle of Six, traces the fate of a Harvard philosophy professor who, devastated by a suicide in his classroom, relocates to Las Vegas and faces the darkness within himself. Prior to A Circle of Six, Janyce Lapore wrote the 2010 short film, "The Director", which featured actors Jarrod DiGiorgi, Dihlon McManne, and Nick Lehane. "The Director" was directed by Brad Grimm, music composed by Barrett Blace. The most recent of these, 10 Minutes From Paradise, documents the explosive tale of three friends from Cleveland who chase their dreams to New York City, leading to consequences both hilarious and heartbreaking. Selected for numerous film festivals, Janyce Lapore’s 10 Minutes From Paradise won Best Screenplay at the New York City ACEFEST, Best Suspense/Thriller from the Los Angeles Film Festival, Best Script at the Independent Film Gathering Film Festival, and finally, the 2010 Award of Excellence at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. Janyce Lapore’s 2009 screenplay, Screaming My Heart Out also enjoyed accolades on the festival circuit, taking Best Screenplay at the Female Eye Film Festival, the Silver Drama Award at the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, and Best Script at the Cinema City International Film Festival.
