Japheth Crawford

Baltimore, MD

I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and was fascinated by design and media of all sorts throughout high school. I worked on a team producing the morning televised news at South Western High and directed the show during my senior year while also working as the Editor-in-Chief of the 50th anniversary yearbook. After high school I went off to start my BFA in Graphic Design at a tech schoolbut quickly realized I wasn't in the right place and made the move to Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD where I currently attend as a Junior Graphic Design major concentrating in Animation and Film/Video Arts.

I'm beyond grateful for the experiences and knowledge I've gained at MICA where I've had the pleasure of working with and listening to lectures by design professionals whose work can be seen all over.

I most recently interned at The ONE Campaign (grass roots non-profit co-founded by U2 frontman, Bono) in Washington, DC where I worked on various special projects, candidate briefing binders for the 2012 election, motion graphics, and other various design tasks. Alongside our intern team, I directed, shot, and edited a short film that featured walkers at the DC AIDS Walk speaking out about why 1% of the US budget going towards foreign aid should be maintained. We used this as part of a World AIDS Day event that we put together in the district for various college student government groups.

I'm an avid magazine reader/admirer, film buff, guitar player, concert goer, and coffee drinker. I have a passion for bringing design to life with motion graphics and special effects. I'm currently available for hire in the Baltimore/DC area and available to travel for work starting in May 2013. Have something interesting for me to do? Let's talk!
