Jared's main focus is providing liquidity & diversification for investors, employees & entrepreneurs while offering access to opportunities in high profile private companies through secondary direct stock sales.
Jared has been a pioneer in the development of the secondary direct venture market & has led numerous transactions in the space. His involvement in pre-IPO tech investments have helped produce over $2b in invested capital across some 30+ businesses with >20 liquidity events. Jared also makes opportunistic venture capital investments.
Since 2004, Jared has worked on a variety of assignments, including early & late stage venture capital, private investment in public equity, M&A projects & secondary direct stock offerings. This has led to extensive experience in iBanking, business operations, acquisition integration & board work. Some of his more notable investments include $FB, $TWTR, $LNKD, $BABA, Palantir, Lyft, Leeo, Spotify, StreamTV, $CHGG, $GLRI, MoneyLion & Flipkart
Prior to launching MVP, Jared was a co-Founder of citizen.vc, a financial technology & investment firm. He oversaw the firm’s secondary direct venture capital activities, including managed funds & brokered transactions. Before founding citizen, Jared was Managing Director, Director of Secondary Markets at Gentry Venture Partners (GSV Ventures). During his tenure, Jared built the firm’s secondary markets practice & led investments into some of the best-known, fastest growing & most difficult to access startups in Silicon Valley. Prior to Gentry, Jared worked at a pioneering firm in the secondary direct venture market sector, originating & funding investments in such companies as $FB, $LNKD, $TWTR, $GRPN & $CHGG, among others. In 2006, Jared spearheaded the effort to build the NY office of AEFC a late-stage venture capital investment bank. Ultimately, the NY office raised more than $100mm per year alongside tier-1 VCs, predominantly for TMT & clean tech companies. In 2004 Jared started in banking at Laidlaw & Co, where he focused on alternative investments.
