Jared Stevens

Orlando, Florida

My name is Jared Stevens and I have a passion for creating unique experiences. Be it a trip to a new destination, an event, a theatrical production, or even a simple night out; I live to create an experience. I am currently a junior at UCF's Rosen College of Hospitality Management. I am double majoring in Event Management and Hospitality Management and plan to graduate in the Fall of 2014.

For most of my life, theatre has been my hobby and later my career. As a child, I performed in countless performances at my hometown children's theatre. When I got a bit older, I realized that technical theatre was for me and I never looked back. I began working as a Stage Manager at age 12 after spending two years learning various aspects of technical theatre. As I got into high school, I continued Stage Managing for our productions and was given the unique opportunity to take on an assistant director/producer type role as our department's Production Manager and I learned more than I could have ever imagined. Through this, I found that my skills could be valuable for much more than theatre alone and started planning different types of events.

I am currently the National Communications Coordinator of the United Resident Student Association. Through this position, I serve as the link between UCF Housing and the state, regional, and national boards for the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). As a part of this position I get to attend conferences to learn about leadership and assist in making decisions that affect the different regions and state affiliations of NACURH. Before I graduate, I hope to get the opportunity to host one of these conferences at UCF.

On a more personal note, I am most recently from Vero Beach, Florida. My mother and I moved to the Sunshine State from Colorado when I was two years old. My hobbies include traveling, going to Orlando's 7 awesome theme parks, keeping up with Oklahoma Sooner Football, and spending time with my wonderful friends.
