Southern Eye Institute is a Memphis-based African mission, bringing compassion, prayer and the gift of sight to the people of West Africa by operating the Southern Eye Clinic in Serabu, Sierra Leone, West Africa.

In a role as a citizen of Serabu, Southern Eye Institute (SEI) comes along-side the members of the community of Serabu to support various projects determined to be helpful in meeting basic needs in the community. In 2012 SEI, working with Global Outreach Mission, drilled 9 deep clean water wells and provided a workshop in health and hygiene for 72 community leaders. The local participants organized a door to door education campaign and averted a nationwide cholera epidemic. Later, they did a similar campaign, distributed 20,000 bars of soap, (with Clean the World) and as a result had no Ebola in Serabu.

One of SEI’s current projects is to come along-side the 30 teachers of the Serabu Community Schools, to give support in the areas of reading, writing and math literacy. An intense two-week workshop is being prepared for which a team of ten persons will be traveling with the medical team. This team is initiating a fund raiser to pay their travel expenses, an estimated $3,750. For each team member. This will not be taken from the mission funds, but will be raised by members of the team who will share face to face and through social media. The goal is to raise $37,500. This will be achieved if 500 CD’s are sold on behalf of each of these ten persons. Should sales exceed 5,000 CD’s the overflowing funds will go into the mission operating fund. The cost of the CD’s will be shared 50/50 with Living Waters for the World who produced the CD in Nashville. This means the total cost of the CD will go to missions. Our gift to you is that as you and your families enjoy this superb musical creation, you will be giving life to the poor people of the world!

Please help in this fundraiser to raise funds before March 1, 2017. Most of the $37,500 for the trip must be paid by the first week in March, 2017.I thank God for your generosity, in Christ,
