Jarnail works with The Climate Group as their India Program Manager. He leads Bijli (Rural Access to Clean Energy) program that aims to accelerate access to clean energy through market based pro-poor business models in selected states of India.
He has worked in the field of sustainable development since 2008 with organizations like TERI and Winrock. He holds a Masters degree in Sustainable International Development at the Heller School at Brandeis University (USA) and was also chosen as a Feldman Fellow in 2011 to pursue higher studies in the US. He holds another graduate degree in Environmental Studies from TERI University.
Jarnail is also a photo-enthusiast and believes that visual story telling represents a significant agency of change. He loves travelling and working with rural communities, and also runs a photo blog on Facebook that attempts to document his travel to the many villages of India with a sustainable human development perspective.
