Jarred Haas

I was born into this world on December 23, 1982. It was a cold, blustery day; I was a welcome bundle of warmth! Or so my parents continue to tell me to this day.

Well, I achieved the improbable. I have recently secured a position as Technology Integration Specialist at J. Henry Higgins Middle School in Peabody, MA. For the past three years, I've served as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher; I also worked with 7th grade for the five years prior. This is my ninth year at Higgins and my third year as the Technology Integration Cheerleader. Currently, I have organized an afterschool teacher learning group focused on iPad use and exploration of apps. Additionally, I worked with our school Technology department to organize a middle school student Help Desk with focus on helping teachers with their technology needs.

In a two short years, our district will have a brand new Middle School with state-of-the-art everything. It is my goal to help facilitate in any way I can, the transition to our new learning environment - if nothing else than for the students learning experience.

This is a great opportunity to grow. As students come first, lets do more than just prepare them for the real world; lets prepare them for the world THEY will live in. Let's make our district a beacon for 21st century education.

I am always available to learn something new, and seek out PD whenever I can in the EdTech world.
