Beau Jarvis

Wichita, Kansas

Beau Jarvis is a jazz pianist and keyboard player from Wichita Kansas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Friends University and a Master of Arts in Musicology from Wichita State University. He spent several years working and playing in the Los Angeles metro area where he developed a unique and diverse musical vocabulary. After moving back to Wichita, he began teaching at Friends University and playing jazz music in the local scene. Beau has performed with artists such as: Jean-Michel Byron, singer for the Los Angeles based band Toto, Doug Grean producer and guitarist for Scott Wieland, The Lettermen, jazz saxophonist Benny Golson, and Tim Orindgreff sax player for the Black Eyed Peas among others. He has had the great pleasure of playing keyboard for Joan Rivers’ show at the Wichita Orpheum Theatre in 2010. Beau currently teaches jazz piano, jazz combo, jazz big band, Aesthetics of Music and Music History at Friends University. In addition to his teaching assignments he often plays casual gigs and performs with a diverse group of musicians from the area.
