Jasmine Fitzwilliam // Let's Frolic Together
San Diego, CA
Let's be friends, you and I. I'll start! I'm Jasmine, a ridiculous Canadian photographer, storyteller, and adventurer, serving the world from my home base in San Diego. Armed with incorrigibly curly red hair and far too many freckles, I'm a whole-hearted believer in genuineness, curiosity, art, and the making of things.
I believe that people matter to each other. Really matter. And something happens when they get connected. Something hopeful and tender and dazzling, like a million fireflies twinkling in the trees beside a silent river. But something comforting, too, like PB&J, or mac & cheese, or PB&J on mac & cheese (ew).
There's magic in each of us. Not hocus pocus. Optimism and possibility and all those quirky, awkward, embarrassing things we do with our favorite people when the world isn't watching. Every time I pick up my camera, I see people extending this tangible wonder out to one-another, powerfully criss-crossing, like the lasers from the late-eighties photo day backdrops of my braids 'n' braces schoolgirl years. That's where I come in. To preserve the fleeting, unexpected moments intangibly connecting people, and to tell the story that those moments add up to. Let's chase fireflies. Let's consume copious amounts of PB&J sandwiches. Let's throw caution into the wind. Let's get connected. Let's frolic together.
