Jasmin Blessing is thrilled to work in the UN-WOMEN country office as Gender Specialist.

Jasmin holds a BA (Hons) in Latin American Studies from Portsmouth University and a Master’s degree in Human Rights from the National University of Ireland, in Dublin.

Prior to joining UN WOMEN, Jasmin worked at Human Rights Education Associates (HREA), an international non-governmental organization that supports human rights learning of professionals. In this position, she developed, instructed, and facilitated human rights e-learning courses related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Jasmin has also worked on LGBT and gender-related human rights issues at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in New York and in the Gender, Peace and Security Program of UN-INSTRAW in the Dominican Republic.

Prior to her work with the UN, she was the Director of the International Resource Network (IRN), an international gender and sexuality project based at the City University of New York (CUNY).
