Jason Jamie Chan
travel advisor in Vancouver
My name is Jason Jamie Chan, and I’m a Calgary-born independent travel advisor currently living in Vancouver. I have 20 years of experience.
Growing up with the Canadian Rockies right outside my window in Alberta, it was pretty much inevitable that I’d fall in love with the beautiful landscapes of Western Canada. Moving to Vancouver changed my perspective entirely, and it quickly became a comfortable home base. Living here has helped me blend my early Albertan roots with the vibrant, coastal energy of the Pacific Northwest.
Throughout my time in B.C, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to explore the coast and build a solid network of hospitality partnerships, boutique hotels, and local artisans. Now, I design tailored travel experiences that showcase the absolute best of both provinces. I love arranging a quiet mountain getaway in Banff, finding a boutique stay on Vancouver Island, or planning a food-focused road trip through the Okanagan Valley. My goal is always to create a flawless, highly personalized itinerary.
A big part of my career involves highlighting small businesses and supporting regional tourism. To complement custom planning and group retreat coordination, I regularly share my favourite finds through travel blogs, destination guides, and food and culture articles. It’s a rewarding way to showcase local culinary talent, hidden gems, and unique festivals, while giving people a bit of lifestyle inspiration for their next vacation.
The best part of this job is that my personal life inspires my professional recommendations. I’m a firm believer in exploring as much as possible, so my weekends are usually spent outdoors. I enjoy going on solo hikes, road trips, and hunting down the best local cafes and restaurants around Vancouver and Calgary.
I’m a huge Calgary Stampeders and Calgary Flames fan, so I’m always following the CFL and NHL seasons. I also love catching live music and checking out the local food and cultural festivals around my adopted city of Vancouver, as well as whenever I visit Alberta. If you never went to the Calgary Stampede, put it on your bucket list. All of these weekend adventures keep me grounded and connected to the community, ensuring that the travel advice and partnerships I share stay authentic, fresh, and genuinely reflective of the Western Canadian lifestyle.
